Training one of our service dogs begins when they are approximately 8 weeks old and continues for up to two years. During this time, each dog receives extensive training, veterinary care, nutrition, equipment, and support services to ensure they are fully prepared to assist an individual with a disability.
As a nonprofit organization, Partners with Paws Service Dogs is committed to making highly trained service dogs accessible to those who need them. To support the significant cost of breeding, raising, training, and placing each dog, families and recipients are asked to participate in fundraising efforts that typically range from $12,000 to $20,000, depending on the type of service dog and level of training required.
These funds are not a purchase price for a dog. All contributions are charitable donations made to Partners with Paws Service Dogs and are used solely to support our charitable mission, including:
No individual or family is purchasing a dog; rather, they are helping sustain the nonprofit program that makes service dog placements possible.
Partners with Paws works closely with each family to provide fundraising guidance, community outreach ideas, and support throughout the process.
Veterans and First Responders are provided service dogs at no cost through donor-supported sponsorships.
We are now a Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) Children’s Long-Term Support (CLTS) Program Provider.
